Mechanism: It uses a dedicated electronic ballast to generate electromagnetic field and then inductively couple it into the bulb, so as to ionize the mercury ion of the solid-state amalgam and the inert gas inside the bulb to form plasma.The excited atoms of the plasma on returning to ground state radiate 253.7nm ultraviolet.The trichromatic fluorescent powder on the inner wall of the bulb excited by the 253.7nm ultraviolet generates lights visible to human eyes.
